St. Joe’s Supper Table relaunches a hot meal service — Ryan Mitchell explains on video

On Tuesday, June 2, 2020, Ryan Mitchell, Manager of the St. Joe’s Supper Table, relaunched a hot meal service in Ottawa’s Sandy Hill community. We had to suspend our daily community meals on March 16th due to the pandemic, and even while we continued to offer a weekly food bank, we were really looking forward to getting back to what we have been doing for more than 40 years: offering a friendly and healthy supper service. We believe that food is a human right and that dignity is at the heart of a meaningful human existence.

In the video below, Ryan takes us into his kitchen and shares with us the process of safely relaunching.

The St. Joe’s Supper Table is funded entirely through private contributions. We are grateful for the generosity of both St. Joe’s parishioners, as well as the broader community that has helped to sustain this community meal service, sometimes through difficult times, for the past four decades.
