St. Joe’s Supper Table – Job Opportunity for Experienced Program Manager

The community meal program of St. Joseph’s Parish, the St. Joe’s Supper Table, is hiring a new Program Manager. The Program Manager coordinates the daily dinner service, offered Monday to Friday, as well as manages a team of volunteers, supervises the weekly Food Bank, reaches out to parishioners and donors, and writes grants. As an integral member of our Parish staff team, the St. Joe’s Supper Table Program Manager attends staff meetings and assists with joint projects, as needed.

Hours: 37.5 Hours, Monday to Friday

Salary: $40,000/year + benefits

 

Key responsibilities include:

-Coordinating a large team of volunteers;

-Vetting and training new volunteers;

-Planning weekly menus based on available ingredients and weekly donations;

-Managing the daily dinner service, Monday to Friday;

-Managing the program’s budget;

-Ordering food, ingredients or supplies, as necessary and as budgeted;

-Coordinating a weekly Food Bank;

-Liasing with donors and potential donors;

-Completing grant applications;

-Communicating Supper Table news to our Parish community and further afield;

-Responding to the needs of those we serve with compassion and treating all who use our service with dignity;

-Participating in the broader work of our Parish’s staff team and on joint projects;

-Participating in the life of St. Joseph’s Parish

 

Required qualifications and experience:

-A post-secondary college diploma or a university degree in a relevant field;

-Experience in food preparation;

-Experience in coordinating volunteers, interns or part-time staff;

-Experience in grant writing and liaising with donors and potential donors;

-An ability to lift and carry boxes of food and heavy items;

-Experience volunteering or working in the not-for-profit sector, especially in faith-based organizations;

-Excellent English-language communication skills (both verbal and written);

-Strong budget management skills;

-An ability to respond compassionately and responsibly to the people we serve through our program.

 

The following are skills or experience considered assets for this position:

-Experience volunteering in Roman Catholic parishes or Catholic organizations;

-A working knowledge of French;

-Experience using the WordPress platform.

  1. I’m qualified but never applied for a grant. I have worked at st Joe’s women center in the 1990 I have worked with marsh Wilson I always supported the excellent work the parish have done
