St. Joe’s Supper Table (www.suppertable.ca)

This is a meal and food sharing ministry.  We serve a supper from 5 – 6:15 pm, Monday through Friday to an average of 100 people an evening.

 

Volunteer Opportunities:

Meal Preparation:

Morning Prep Shifts are from 9 am – 12 noon.

  • The morning volunteers prepare the meal with the help of a cook coordinator or a very good recipe. They also prepare the salad, dessert and bag lunches.

Evening Prep Shifts are from 3 – 5 pm (available on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays).

  • Volunteers ensure that the meal is heating properly, juice is made, tables are set, condiments are prepared, coffee station is ready and any donations for guests are set out on tables.

The Evening Serving/Clean-Up volunteers work from 4:45 – 6:45/7 pm.

  • They ensure that there is awesome hospitality through serving meals and clean up.

 

Food Sharing Ministry (Food Bank):

Wednesday morning we receive food bank deliveries and need help unloading and sorting the food.

Fridays from 11:30 am – 1 pm we need help setting up the food bank and from 12:45 – 3:30 pm we need help serving at the food bank.

 

Gardening:

The community garden operates from spring through October (digging, planting, composting, weeding, harvesting, etc.). Watch for sign-ups in the spring or contact the manager. Volunteer times can vary according to availability including weekend shifts.
